with daughters, Mia & Hope

"I never imagined myself teaching music to infants, or todlers...."

I had the experience of taking my daughters to music classes when they were just infants themselves. Living in New Jersey, I tried many different music programs in the area, but never found exactly what I was looking for.  I didn't want to limit their music & cultural experience because of demoraphics.  So I decided to take the girls into New York City at least 2-3 times a week, to  expose them at an early age to not only Music, but to Dance, Art, Theatre, Central Park, and most importantly, CULTURE!

My girls loved the classes and I was amazed to see how much they got from the music and dance classes.

Music, Ballet and Art were always our favorite days of the week!  Not to mention a stroll across Central Park

to the Metropolitan Museum of Art on a nice day! Even on our walks through the park, we would hear in the distance, a soulful saxophone, or trumpet player, pouring his heart out in every note. Music is a "feeling". You can't touch it, but you can feel it, and when you connect with it, the emotion it can bring out lies somewhere deep within your soul. I always believed ALL the Arts to be a crucial part of one’s life. Having the opportunity to attend LaGuardia High School of Music and the Arts in NYC, was truly an amazing time in my life. Being around so many talented young people ranging from Dance, Art, Music and Drama on a daily basis, was a mind opening experience to all the Arts. Upon graduating LaGuardia HS, I was accepted to Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massacusetts. Again, the level of talented people and amazing Music Professors were so inspiring! I just loved being around music, and I loved how it made me feel!
That is what I wanted my own girls to feel.
I will never forget seeing my little girl Mia, hear a live Cello play for the 1st time when she was just a baby. She stopped right in her tracks, and just sat and listened in awe of the deep, warm tone coming from this wooden instrument she had never seen before. I knew she felt what I felt at that moment!
Music is a wonderful way to bond with your baby, and a wonderful place to bond with other parents. In our baby class, the children are not the only ones being taught! It is a joy for the parent as well as the child. The parents must come to class prepared to listen, sing, play and most of all enjoy sharing a special moment their baby's life!
I can't think of a more wonderful thing than witnessing a child's joy when discovering new sounds and feelings music can bring. That’s why I founded Mozart to Monet...a musical Art experience for kids!
